Youth Red Cross and Water Guard's National Competition

On September 10, 2022, the regional lifesaving and water rescue competition for JRK groups and the DRK state association of Saxony-Anhalt e.V. is set to take place in Arendsee, Germany.

This competition, organised by the DRK, will see over 230 children, young people, and adults participate in a series of aquatic tasks and lifesaving scenarios. The event is expected to be an exciting display of rescue skills, teamwork, and individual prowess.

Participants will be required to swim while wearing rescue equipment, such as rescue rings, belts with lines, and buoys. These items will be essential in various simulated lifesaving situations throughout the competition.

The competition is divided into two scoring categories: regional course and first aid scoring. The regional course will test participants' swimming abilities and rescue skills, while the first aid scoring will evaluate their knowledge and practical application of first aid and medical services.

The competition also includes stations for theoretical Red Cross knowledge and from the youth Red Cross. These stations will test participants' understanding of the principles of first aid and water safety.

In addition to the swimming and first aid tasks, the competition will feature stations focused on nature and water protection. This aspect highlights the importance of environmental responsibility in lifesaving and water rescue.

The competition does not include any advertisements, ensuring a focus on the skills and teamwork of the participants.

For more detailed information about the tasks, scoring, and rules for the specific competition in Arendsee, interested parties are encouraged to contact the local lifesaving club or the organizing body, Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt e.V.
