Victim suffers severe injuries in collision with antique tractor
In a shocking turn of events, a severe tractor accident occurred on Sunday evening in the picturesque town of Tarrenz, located in the Imst district of Tyrol, Austria. The accident, which took place around 5:20 PM on the L246 Obtarrenzer Straße, involved an oldtimer tractor, a vintage model that sadly lost control in a curve and toppled over an adjacent slope.
The tractor was being driven by a 16-year-old Austrian, and it carried a total of five occupants, four of whom were minors. Two passengers were 15 and 16 years old, while another was a 17-year-old who was unsecured on a wooden loading platform at the rear of the tractor.
The accident resulted in a total road closure, with the L246 being temporarily closed for rescue and recovery operations. The tractor was secured by the volunteer fire brigade, and three of the occupants were taken to hospital by ambulance. Unfortunately, one of the passengers, the unsecured 17-year-old, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital.
The exact cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Police Directorate Tyrol, with the police directorate involved in the investigation of the accident with the old tractor in Tarrenz. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
Our thoughts are with the injured passengers and their families during this difficult time. We urge all road users to drive safely and responsibly, especially when operating vehicles that may not be equipped with modern safety features.
