Venture capitalists invest $2.5 million in novel Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) start-up by Go1 founders
OneMRI, a groundbreaking preventative healthcare startup, was launched in October 2024 by Dr. Vu Tran, Andrew Barnes, and Gopi Sara—the founders of the successful education technology platform Go1. The company offers whole-body MRI scans across Australia, with the aim of detecting early signs of over 500 health conditions, including cancers, metabolic disorders, autoimmune diseases, spinal degeneration, and brain aneurysms.
The clinical approach of OneMRI integrates radiologist scan reviews and doctor consultations, ensuring diagnostic rigor and positioning their service as a complement to targeted diagnostic tests rather than a replacement. This emphasis on clinical excellence, combined with the proactive health management focus, makes OneMRI an attractive proposition for the growing number of individuals seeking autonomy, access, and answers in their health journey.
In August 2025, OneMRI secured AUD 2.5 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round. The funding, which was raised from investors including OIF Ventures, TEN13, Antler, Salus Ventures, Afterwork Ventures, and various clinician and radiologist backers, will support the expansion of OneMRI's services across major Australian cities, including Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth, Sydney, Newcastle, and Melbourne. The company also has plans for growth in the Asia Pacific region.
The involvement of the Go1 founders adds credibility to this health tech initiative. In a statement, Dr. Vu Tran, co-founder and head of medical at OneMRI, said, "Right now, radiology is one of the most underutilised tools in preventive care. The 'health curious' increasingly want autonomy, access, and answers. Individuals should have the agency to take a proactive approach to their health, and whole-body MRI scans are one of the safest ways to do that."
The global preventative healthcare tech and services market was valued at $243 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach $585.6 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 11.8%. This growth trajectory, coupled with the increasing demand for proactive health management, bodes well for the future of OneMRI.
Each appointment with OneMRI includes pre-and-post-scan consultations with qualified clinicians and care coordinators, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive experience for the individual. The company's commitment to preventative healthcare and its innovative approach to MRI scanning make it a promising player in the rapidly growing preventative healthcare tech and services market.
