United Arab Emirates government endorses Economic Clusters Policy and proposed measures in healthcare and environmental sectors

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has announced a series of significant decisions aimed at enhancing the country's economic competitiveness and improving patient care.

The UAE Cabinet, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has approved the National Policy for Economic Clusters. This policy is expected to boost foreign trade by AED 15 billion over the next seven years and add more than AED 30 billion annually to the national GDP. The policy aims to enhance global competitiveness in key sectors such as finance, tourism, food, space, and data analytics. It also seeks to strengthen interconnected industries across the country.

In a move to improve healthcare services, the UAE Cabinet has approved the establishment of the UAE Council for Integrative Medicine. The council, chaired by Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, will oversee the development of guidelines and treatment protocols that combine modern and traditional practices to enhance patient care. The UAE Council for Integrative Medicine is led by Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, who is also Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.

The UAE government is also strengthening national cybersecurity policies, as confirmed by the UAE Cabinet. Several federal councils are being restructured according to the decisions of the UAE Cabinet.

The UAE Cabinet has also ratified 85 international agreements and endorsed the agenda for the UAE Government Annual Meetings, scheduled for November 4-6 in Abu Dhabi. The meetings will bring together 500 senior officials to discuss priorities including education, healthcare, family values, the economy, and artificial intelligence.

The UAE is hosting 12 major international events, as approved by the UAE Cabinet. The UAE Government Annual Meetings will also focus on the advancement of the UAE Genomics Council's work, as approved by the government cabinet.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum affirmed that all national teams are progressing in line with the country's long-term vision for prosperity and competitiveness. The UAE Cabinet has also approved an updated National Plan for Reducing Aviation Emissions and reviews of national air quality and biodiversity strategies have been included in the decisions made by the UAE Cabinet.

These decisions reflect the UAE government's commitment to fostering economic growth, improving healthcare services, and ensuring national security and environmental sustainability.
