Guidance: Journey to Conception - Struggling pathway towards conception

In the world of pop music, Atomic Kitten's Liz McClarnon (44) has taken a break from the spotlight recently, but it isn't to work on a new album. Instead, she's embarked on a different kind of journey—one through emotional ups and downs in pursuit of motherhood.

McClarnon sat down with the British press, The Mirror, and shared her heart-wrenching journey, filled with setbacks, losses, and enduring love with husband, Peter Cho. Their journey together began with IVF attempts shortly after their relationship started in 2021 and continued through to their love-filled wedding in 2023.

Three Swings and a Miss

Despite their best efforts—and three attempts—they hit a roadblock with three failed IVF embryo transfers in 2022. But the couple didn't let defeat keep them down. They picked up the pieces, continued to support each other, and tried again.

Gut-wrenching heartache claimed them, however, in 2024, with the painful loss of two pregnancies. As she found herself feeling "done" after the last miscarriage, McClarnon's husband Peter stood by her side, offering unwavering support and understanding.

A Christmas Miracle

The season of festivities and family gatherings brought new hope to Liz. The healing power of a break spent with loved ones and strengthened her resolve for another attempt.

The baby-to-be is now growing in her womb, and McClarnon's eyes are full of wonder, realizing the magical journey it took to get there. "The whole process really made me understand that having a baby is a miracle," she says.

Pregnancy Announcement and Fan Response

Eager to share her happy news yet unsure of the reaction, McClarnon revealed her pregnancy in a heartfelt Instagram video in May. Overwhelmed by the wave of love and support that followed, she admitted she hadn't realized how many people would care about her journey, only admitting to feeling "done" previously to avoid negativity.

Bandmate Jenny Frost (47) of Atomic Kitten joyfully commented, "The best news ever... You've made it through, girl, but never lost faith in what you knew was meant to be." Singer Natasha Hamilton (42) sent her well wishes, as well, sharing, "I couldn't be happier for you both! After everything you've been through, this little miracle means everything."
