BREAKING: Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic Takes Sudden Health Break During US Visit

Some unexpected drama unfolded this weekend, as Serbia's President, Aleksandar Vucic, cut his USA trip short due to a sudden bout of chest pain, apparently caused by elevated blood pressure. According to doctors, they've treated the afflicted leader at Belgrade's Military Hospital.

This sudden illness struck the 55-year-old president during a meeting in the US on Friday, causing him to hotfoot it back home against the advice of American medical professionals. Cardiologist Dragan Dincic, from Belgrade's Military Hospital, filled us in on the details.

Dincic reported that Vucic is receiving additional therapy following the incident and, as of now, is in a "just peachy" health condition. To clarify, this doesn't mean he'll be hitting the dancefloor anytime soon; the doctor added that Vucic won't be hospitalized but should steer clear of his regular activities for a few days.

Just before the health scare, Vucic could be found hanging out with former New York City mayor, Rudy Giuliani, in Miami. As luck would have it, Vucic had hoped to catch up with US President Donald Trump as well.

US presidential envoy for special missions, Richard Grenell, voiced his well wishes, tweeting, "Bummer to miss you, but here's hoping everything's A-OK!"

More drama awaits, as the populist leader has plans to attend a Victory Day parade in Moscow later this month, clashing with European Union officials warning this may jeopardize Serbia's bid to join the bloc.

Despite persistently anti-corruption protests back home, following the collapse of a train station roof that left 16 dead, Vucic has stood defiant, refusing to join Western sanctions against Russia over their invasion of Ukraine.

But wait, there's more. Back in 2019, Vucic also faced a stay at the hospital for heart issues. With that history in mind, the president may have some post-discharge medical assessments or follow-up care coming up. Stay tuned!
