Regensburg Offers Certified 'Smoke Free' Compact Course in November 2025
The Regensburg Health Department is launching a certified 'Smoke Free' compact course in November 2025. Led by Irmgard Pernpeintner, a certified social pedagogue and 'Smoke Free' trainer, the course aims to help participants quit smoking. The compact course includes a 90-minute introduction session and three weekly sessions of three hours each, supplemented by two telephone sessions.
The course is certified by the Institute for Therapy Research and the Federal Institute for Public Health. It is structured in three phases: dealing with attitude towards smoking, coping with difficult situations, and focusing on the positive aspects of a smoke-free life. Participants receive the 'Smoke Free Handbook' and additional free information brochures. Around one third of participants remain smoke-free even after a year.
The participation fee is 180 euros, with statutory health insurances reimbursing up to 80% of the costs. A free info and introduction lecture will take place on October 29, 2025, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm in the Regensburg County Administration Building. For registration, contact Frau Scheuerer at the Health Department of the City of Regensburg by phone at 0941 4009-769.
