In a startling confession, Nico Legat (27) has come clean about his battle with alcohol addiction, revealing to RTL that he checked himself into a rehab center on May 5.
The son of former footballer Thorsten Legat (56), known for his stint on reality TV formats, disclosed his decision to seek professional help after a "serious relapse" during a vacation in Mallorca.
Though details about the rehab center and duration of treatment remain elusive, Nico remains resolute, “I’ve had enough. I’m taking responsibility, getting help, and working on myself." His ultimate goal? A strong comeback and a life restored.
"My Regret: Delaying Help"
Touched by his proactive step, Nico lamented, “I wish I had made this decision earlier. Perhaps I could have lessened both my personal suffering and others’ disappointment." After his appearance on popular dating show "Temptation Island" two years ago, he openly acknowledged his alcohol problem. His estrangement from his father, Thorsten, followed due to his public indiscretions. Reportedly, Nico abstained from alcohol for several months post the show.
Reflecting on the past, Nico told Spot on News in November, “I regret the infidelity and alcohol excesses because one led to the other." In the same interview, Thorsten Legat shared his sentiments, “I don't regret distancing myself from my son in public due to his behavior on TV."
