Police are investigating a case of child abuse that occurred near Loch Ness, with authorities diligently searching for the person responsible.

In a shocking incident, a white man, believed to be between 35 and 50 years old, with a shaved head and approximately 5ft 10ins tall, is being sought by Police Scotland for the sexual abuse of an eight-year-old boy at a campsite near Loch Ness, Scotland. The incident occurred on the night of July 31st.

The suspect is reported to have approached the boy's tent between 12:20 am and 1 am, and the boy's father witnessed the man leaving the tent after the incident. The location of the incident, Loch Ness Bay campsite near Drumnadrochit, is a popular tourist attraction, particularly in the summer, known for its hikes and camping holidays.

Detective Superintendent Calum Smith is urging anyone who was in the area at the time or who noticed someone matching the suspect's description to come forward. Police Scotland has seized more than 1,500 hours of CCTV footage and visited almost 100 properties as part of their extensive inquiries. Significant resources have been allocated to this investigation, with specialist teams from across the country deployed.

The incident has sent shockwaves across the United Kingdom, but it has not affected the popularity of Loch Ness as a tourist destination. The boy's family was in a nearby tent during the incident, and Police Scotland is providing specialist support to the boy and his family.
