Opportunity in Aquaculture: Seeking an Extension Associate

Hey there! Check out this cool opportunity if you're passionate about aquaculture and making a difference in your community! The University of Minnesota Sea Grant College Program is hiring an Aquaculture Extension Associate to help bolster Minnesotan and Great Lakes region fisheries.

As an Aquaculture Extension Associate, you'll manage the daily operations of the MNSG Aquaculture Lab, collaborate on extension and research projects with fish farmers, and work closely with various state, federal, and tribal partners. Your mission will be to improve aquaculture practices and Better accommodate communities' needs.

This position requires a lot of multitasking! You'll oversee multiple extension and research projects related to aquaculture, maintain permits, supervise staff, and troubleshoot operational systems in the lab. Additionally, you'll collaborate on individual research projects with other researchers, write proposals for funding, and assist with high-priority research projects.

Of course, you'll also participate in general MNSG activities like attending staff meetings, maintaining a calendar of events, and reporting work activity regularly. You'll even help write, edit, and produce important documents for Sea Grant, such as strategic plans, grant proposals, and progress reports.
