New hospice establishes in Leipzig
The Diakonie Hospice in Magnusstraße, Eutritzsch, Leipzig, is set to open its doors on Wednesday, marking the fourth hospice facility operated by the Diakonie in the city.
Construction of the hospice began in late 2021, and it has taken approximately four million euros to build and furnish the new facility, which is located in the Eutritzsch neighbourhood. The hospice is equipped with 12 beds and will be staffed by 30 employees.
The opening ceremony will take place on Wednesday, and the hospice will provide care to patients in need. The new hospice is financed in part by a donation from Gesellschaft Harmonie e. V. Leipzig and also benefits from ESF funding by the European Union.
