Title: Modernizing Medical Facilities in Sergachsky, powered by National Project "Long and Active Life"
In the heart of Nizhny Novgorod region's Sergachsky municipal district, three vital medical centers — the FAPs in Gusevo and Akcha and the Sосновskaya outpatient clinic — have recently undergone extensive makeovers. These renovations? Part of the national program, "Modernization of Primary Healthcare," under the umbrella of the "National Project "Long and Active Life". The revamped facilities are now back in service, offering residents planned healthcare services like vaccinations and screenings, as well as emergency care.
As per reports from the regional health department, the overhauls were long overdue, with the facilities remaining in their aged state since their initial opening in the late 60s. According to Maria Filatova, the acting chief physician of the Sergachskaya CRB, the modernization was essential for maintaining health standards as well as improving sanitation.
With almost three thousand patients served in these refurbished centers, Irina Sycheva, a seasoned feldsher from the Gusevo FAP, voiced her contentment with the upgraded facilities. "The repairs have practically transformed the atmosphere in the FAP," she said. "A renewed environment can help foster healing not just for patients but for caregivers too."
The Sergachskaya CRB further emphasized that alongside renovating the walls, ceilings, and floors, communication systems, furnaces, and ventilation systems within the facilities were also modernized.
Looking ahead, Maria Filatova expressed plans to revamp six more medical centers in the district before the year's end, as well as construct a brand-new FAP. "These improvements will help bring medical help within closer reach for our residents and further improve the quality of care," she stated.
So, why all the fuss about the "National Project "Long and Active Life"? Launched in 2025 at the behest of President Vladimir Putin, this comprehensive project is designed to enhance life expectancy nationwide by 2030. The goals? Modernizing clinics, ambulatory centers, and FAPs, attracting talented medical personnel, implementing new approaches for chronic illness management, bolstering emergency medical services, and establishing a digitalized healthcare industry.
The project boasts 11 constituent federal projects: "Health for All", "Modernization of Primary Healthcare", "Medical Personnel", "Combating Cardiovascular Diseases", "Combating Oncological Diseases", "Combating Diabetes", "Combating Hepatitis and Minimizing Disease Spread Risks", "Improving Emergency Medical Care", "Development of Federal Medical Institutions, Including the Network of National Research Centers", "National Health Platform", "Optimal Medical Rehabilitation for Health Restoration".
