McCann Ltd. CEO's Support Speeds Recovery of Construction Manager After Open-Heart Surgery
John O'Donovan, Construction Manager at McCann Ltd., has expressed gratitude for the support he's received from Managing Director John McCann and the medical staff during his recovery from two transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) and subsequent open-heart surgery. McCann Ltd., under McCann's leadership, has been unwavering in its support, prioritizing O'Donovan's health and wellbeing.
O'Donovan's journey began in June 2017 when he suffered his first suspected TIA. A second incident occurred in June 2018. Following the second TIA, O'Donovan was signed off work for a month and noticed a deterioration in his eyesight. Scans revealed a 6cm aneurysm of his aorta, leading to an 11-hour open-heart surgery in February 2023. Post-surgery, O'Donovan was placed into an induced coma for 5 days and also suffered a collapsed lung. Throughout his recovery, McCann Ltd. provided private medical insurance and counseling sessions, demonstrating its commitment to supporting O'Donovan's wellbeing.
McCann, known for his steadfast support of O'Donovan, has been particularly understanding and supportive of his recovery. McCann Ltd., under his leadership, has been actively involved in various engineering projects and partnerships, including collaborations with Nottingham College to support technical education and apprenticeship programs. Despite the setbacks, O'Donovan's mental health and confidence have suffered, but his rehabilitation is going well. McCann has placed O'Donovan on a phased return schedule to help him gradually take on his previous responsibilities again.
