Mark your calendars for August 22: Blood Donation Event in Mülheim

The city of Mülheim, in partnership with the Red Cross and Sparkasse Mülheim an der Ruhr, is organising the 19th Mülheim Blood Donation Day on Friday, August 22. The event will take place at the Westenergie-Halle, An den Sportstätten 6.

Blood donors can look forward to a special day, with attractive surprises in a bag for all donors and the first 120 donors receiving a gift book. After the blood donation, a snack is offered by the Red Cross, while ice cream is provided by Sparkasse.

To donate blood, individuals must be at least 18 years old, feel healthy, and bring an ID card or driver's license. It is recommended to drink enough and eat something before the blood donation. Appointments are required and can be made at www.blutspende.jetzt or the DRK blood donation service hotline 0800 11 949 11.

The blood donation process takes approximately an hour, with the actual donation taking 5-10 minutes and a 10-minute relaxation period afterwards. Visitors can expect a special framework program, including an aging suit and special tremor gloves experience.

Mayor Marc Buchholz has taken over the patronage of the event. Photographer Wolf Müller-Funke will capture interested blood donors under the motto "With heart and soul." There is also an opportunity to take "I am a full-blooded hero/heroine" selfies at another photo point.

Current blood donation dates, changes, and information can be found at 0800 11 949 11 and www.blutspende.jetzt. The event will be a great opportunity for the community to come together and make a difference by donating blood. So, mark your calendars and join the 19th Mülheim Blood Donation Day!

The special framework program at the 19th Mülheim Blood Donation Day, which includes an aging suit and special tremor gloves experience, is designed to educate visitors about the physical challenges associated with health-and-wellness issues (aging). The event, held on August 22, also offers a science-based approach with the blood donation process, ensuring a safe and efficient means of supporting the health-and-wellness of the community.
