In Madhya Pradesh, a tragedy has unfolded with the deaths of 14 children, allegedly due to a toxic cough syrup. The state government has taken swift action, suspending officials and banning the drug. Dr Praveen Soni from Chhindwara was arrested for alleged negligence, and a case was registered against the manufacturer, Sresan Pharmaceutical. The company's Coldrif cough syrup was found to contain a highly toxic substance, leading to its ban. Eight children remain under treatment, with four in a government hospital, one at AIIMS, and three in private facilities. The Madhya Pradesh government's swift response aims to prevent further tragedies and ensure justice for the affected families.
