Investigative body played a role in compiling findings on the Netherlands' current status.

In an effort to address and process cases of sexualized violence within the Evangelical Church, a review team has been established in the Rhineland. The team, consisting of six external experts, including four retired police officers, has been examining personnel files since mid-July, searching for indications of sexualized violence from the past 80 years.

The review, part of a commitment by the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland to address sexualized violence nationwide, is looking for signs such as unusually frequent transfers to other locations with seemingly concealing reasons. The team has screened around 2,000 individual personnel files since early July.

The Landeskirchenamt, the regional church administration, will hand over any files with suspicious indications to independent public prosecutors for legal assessment and evaluation of the actions of the former ecclesiastical institutions. Dirk Mehling, a retired police officer, is one of the experts on the review team.

The Evangelical Church District of Solingen is also part of this nationwide processing of sexualized violence cases. All personnel files in the district are being reviewed.

For those seeking help and support within the church, the Evangelical Church Circle of Solingen offers contact options and help regarding "Sexualized Violence in the Evangelical Church" through trusted persons Simone Tschense and Simone Henn-Pausch. They can be contacted via email at [email protected] or phone at 0212 287 - 301.

For those outside the church, alternative contact points include the "Fachberatungsstelle bei sexualisierter Gewalt gegen Kinder und Jugendliche (FABS)" at 0212 586118 and the "Hilfetelefon Sexueller Missbrauch" at 0800 2255 530.

The aim of this review is to create a basis for victims of sexualized violence to tell their stories and be heard by the church. However, as of August 2025, no verified information could be found regarding the investigations into historical cases of sexualized violence in the Evangelical Church District of Solingen. For detailed or specific updates on this subject, consulting local German news sources or official church statements would be advisable.
