The Picture of Justice in Hesse: 184 Claims Lodged for COVID-19 Vaccine-Related Injuries
Incident reports of 184 alleged COVID-19 vaccination adverse effects documented in Hesse - In the German state of Hessen, there have been 184 reports of suspected coronavirus vaccine side effects
Here's the lowdown on the situation:
In the heart of Hesse, a grand total of 184 claims have been lodged with the local social courts, pleading for compensation due to adverse reactions to the COVID-19 vaccines. Jutta Mauer, the spokesperson for Hessian Social Court, shed some light on this topic during the unveiling of their annual report on the social court system in Darmstadt.
Unfortunately, the results have been mixed so far. Only one claim has been successful in a Hessian social court; however, an appeal has been filed in the said case, keeping it in limbo at the Hessian Social Court. Moreover, another unsuccessful case from the initial round is currently under review at the same court. On a brighter note, 13 cases have been voluntarily withdrawn, and 6 others have been dismissed with finality.
It's essential to note that these lawsuits aren’t pointed at the vaccine manufacturers but the state itself, due to their vaccination recommendations. If you suspect you've suffered a vaccination injury, you can send an application to the responsible state authority. If there's a disagreement with the authority’s decision, your case might wind up in court.
Historically, Few Cases Pending
Speaking of the annual report of the Hessian social court system:
обстановка:Courts: A grand total of seven social courts operate in Hesse – stationed in Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Fulda, Kassel, Gießen, Wiesbaden, and Marburg, along with the Hessian Social Court in Darmstadt. Their areas of expertise encompass statutory pensions, accidents, health insurance, long-term care insurance, unemployment benefits, and benefits for asylum seekers.
Cases: In the year 2024, the Hessian social courts processed a whopping 18,422 cases (2023: 19,130) – a significant increase compared to the 17,067 new lawsuits and emergency proceedings filed (2023: 17,198). Despite this, the number of pending cases decreased from 27,120 (end of 2023) by approximately 5% to 25,769 (end of 2024). Quite surprisingly, this is the lowest level seen in the past two decades.
Cases at the Social Court: Over the past year, 1,884 new cases were filed at the Social Court (2023: 1,729), and 1,938 were processed. As of the end of 2024, there were still 2,095 pending cases (end of 2023: 2,151) – Wilhelm Wolf, President of the Social Court, highlighted this as a "very positive development".
In the context of the rising claims for COVID-19 vaccine-related injuries, community aid could be targeted towards supporting those affected by vaccine-related medical-conditions, ensuring health-and-wellness for the less favored regions in Hesse. Additionally, science could play a crucial role in studying and understanding the long-term effects of COVID-19 vaccines, contributing to the development of the less favored regions.
