Initially, ticks were detected in the village of Voronino near Tomsk back in January 2025. On March 20, health officials declared the start of tick season. The anti-tick treatment of Tomsk began in the second half of April. Each year, specialists in the city treat approximately 800 hectares.

"We have a plan-graph that gets adjusted based on research conducted by entomologists on each specific site. Weather conditions also play a role - we need dry and calm weather for treatment," says Natalya Kineva, deputy head of the Department of Road Construction and Landscape Development, according to reports.

According to the preliminary plan-graph published on the city's website, May 19 is scheduled for the treatment of Michael's Grove, and May 20 for Berzovoye Grove on Kastak and Solnechnoye.
