Despite the presence of bacteria, inspections at the waterworks found no defects and no bacteria at any tap. The health department promptly issued a boiling order for the affected area to ensure safety. However, recent tests have confirmed that the water is now safe to use without boiling.
The city of Greifswald has resolved the drinking water contamination issue. Residents can now use tap water as normal, with no boiling required. The waterworks have been inspected and found to be free of defects and bacteria.
