Detailed Info
This 16-hour intensive course is a must-have for anyone working with infants to adults in outdoor settings. The course takes place at the picturesque Foxburrow Nature Reserve (IP12 1NA), over two action-packed days. Course dates: Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th October 2025. Time: 9am-6pm each day.
The course is led by experienced educators with decades of working and playing outdoors, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience. The ITC First organization designed this Forest Schools First Aid course to align with the Forest School ethos and rationale. This qualification is essential for Level 3 Practitioners and those supporting them, and is also suitable for teachers leading outdoor learning sessions in school grounds, country parks, nature reserves, and other outdoor environments.
This course combines practical training and theory, with a strong emphasis on hands-on scenarios in the outdoors. There is no final examination, as assessment is continuous. Those who complete the course and meet the required standard are awarded a certificate valid for three years. The certificate also covers the content of the Level 3 Paediatric First Aid 12-hour course.
Course Structure
The 16-hour course is divided into two units:
Unit 1: Forest School Emergency Action
Unit 2: Forest School Incident Management
Upon successful completion, you should be able to perform various first aid tasks, such as assessing an emergency situation safely, providing first aid for unresponsive individuals, managing external bleeding, and administering first aid for common injuries and medical conditions.
