"Enjoying Cycling with Enhanced Safety"

Nordhorn, Germany - The police station in Nordhorn is organising a women-exclusive cycling tour on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 2 p.m. The event, titled "Experience Safety," is part of an ongoing series of initiatives aimed at promoting safety and security in the city.

The cycling tour will start at the police station on Wietmarscher Straße 4 and will focus on traffic safety, crime prevention, and urban safety. The tour is a collaboration between the city's equal opportunities officer, Anja Milewski, police officer Joerg Reurik, and chief commissioner Uwe van der Heiden from the prevention team of the police station Nordhorn.

Participants can expect expert explanations on safe cycling and various theft protection options, as well as behavioural recommendations to ensure a safe and enjoyable cycling experience. The tour will also address knife-edge traffic situations and fears of crime, providing practical tips and advice.

Milewski will also provide tips and information specifically for women, including self-assertion and counseling options. The tour is a response to the continued high demand, as the tour in July was very well received.

The organisations and institutions addressing women's security needs and collaborating with Milewski, Reurik, and van der Heiden include TERRE DES FEMMES, UN Women Germany, Frauenhauskoordinierung e.V., and the Landesfrauenrat Baden-Württemberg.

Participation in the cycling tour is free, but registrations must be made by email or phone by September 12, 2025. Participants are asked to bring their own drinks.

The cycling tour aims to address places with a high fear of crime or uncertainties in connection with road traffic. The use of a bicycle helmet is required.

The cycling tour is a part of the prevention project "Experience Safety." Urban safety will be discussed during the tour.

The cycling tour is exclusive for women from Germany and around the world. For further dates for "Experience Safety," please visit the website.
