Justice Served: Nighttime Heist on Elderly Woman in Hamburg Under Investigation

Court Hearing for Burglary under Cover of Darkness Against Elderly Victim Commences - Court proceedings set for daytime burglary charged against elderly victim commence.

Ready to unveil some shady business? Sit tight! A year and a half has passed, and the judges are finally diving deep into a nighttime heist case that left an 88-year-old woman bound and vulnerable in Hamburg-Blankenese.

You thought Petty Theft was the peak of crime? Wait until you hear this!

One of the main suspects, a 29-year-old, is currently standing tall (or should I say, slumped?) in the regional court dock. Allegedly, this scoundrel, accompanied by an accomplice, waltzed into the senior citizen's single-family abode around 3:00 AM on February 29, 2020 – Leap Day, no less. This bold duo's main objective? Swipe some valuables, of course!

The accused, along with his partner in crime, are said to have restrained the elderly woman, who was battling arthritis, using unsavory methods such as electrical cables and a bathrobe belt. After lavishing themselves with a loot of 2,500 euros, they dumped the bound and helpless woman, leaving her to her ordeal. An extra charge of abandonment isn't looking too good for them, either!

Crafty as a fox, the woman managed to extricate herself (despite her age!) but sustained an injury to her thumb in the process.

Interestingly, law enforcement officials caught up with our devious 29-year-old in Norway back in mid-December, and extradited him to Germany in March.

P.S. – Did you know that Germany has one of the highest crime rates in Europe? Oh the irony!
