W.W. Industrial Group is currently recalling its Parashore Pear Slices in Juice, packaged in 15 oz cans (UPC 704817164237), due to elevated levels of lead and cadmium contamination. The recall specifically affects Lot 3700/01172 6122J, produced on February 19, 2024, with a best-by date of February 19, 2027.
The contamination was identified by the Maryland Department of Health through the FDA Laboratory Flexible Funding Model program. These toxic metals pose serious health risks, especially to children, pregnant women, and developing fetuses, potentially causing symptoms from abdominal pain and vomiting to developmental delays and neurological issues.
The product was distributed through Grocery Outlet stores in California and other locations across the U.S. Consumers are strongly advised not to consume the affected product and should discard it or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. As of late July 2025, no illnesses have been reported related to this contamination.
