Traffic Accident in Dortmund City Centre: Three Vehicles Involved
On May 26, a traffic accident occurred in the heart of Dortmund, involving three vehicles. The incident took place around 4 p.m., causing a road closure on Klönnestraße in both directions for the investigation that followed.
The accident involved an 86-year-old resident of Dortmund, who was driving a Mercedes, and a Mercedes from Lünen, driven by a 23-year-old from Dortmund. According to reports, the older driver attempted to turn left onto Klönnestraße from a driveway, but failed to notice the approaching Mercedes from Lünen. As a result, the two vehicles collided head-on.
The impact of the collision caused significant damage, estimated to be approximately 38,000 euros. All three vehicles involved in the accident were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away.
The older driver was initially in critical condition, but fortunately, was unharmed in the accident. The 23-year-old driver from Dortmund sustained minor injuries.
Case No.: 0485 has been assigned to this incident, and the accident investigation was conducted by the specialized traffic accident investigation team of the Dortmund police.
