Building explosion triggers chaos from a high-rise residence due to a heated family dispute

A 23-year-old duo, Guseyn and Ayshan Kazimov, from Azerbaijan, projected a blissful image to the world. However, beneath the surface, their household was a battleground marred by heartache, as reported by Liter.kz.

According to musavat.com, Guseyn Kazimov stood accused of intentionally taking the life of Ayshan, his spouse, with brutal malice. The consequence was a 16-year and 6-month prison sentence for him.

In his confession, Guseyn convincingly expressed that Ayshan's infidelity triggered the homicide. Living together for a short while as couple, Guseyn was aware that Ayshan, a university student, chose abortion due to pregnancy complications. Afterward, he learned that his own reproductive issues were imminent if he did not seek immediate medical attention. This revelation led him to question Ayshan's pregnancy and, succumbing to his rage, he physically assaulted her, accusing her of infidelity. Ayshan denied any wrongdoing.

At some point, Guseyn discovered that Ayshan had been secretly leaving the house, fueling his jealousy. Driven by obsession, Guseyn subjected Ayshan to unimaginable torment, demanding a confession. He bound Ayshan's hands with duct tape, shaved her head, and threatened, "Today is your final day." He coerced Ayshan into recording a "confession" video, potentially under the threat of his own violence. Guseyn's first actions were to share this damning evidence with his mother.

During the investigation, Guseyn admitted throwing Ayshan from a building while her wrists were bound. However, in the courtroom, he claimed that Ayshan had supposedly leaped out the window on her own.

"While I was filming the video, she pleaded that she could not face her relatives again. She begged me not to distribute this recording. Then she asked for water. I left to fetch water. Upon my return, I saw that she had leaped. I rushed to the courtyard and surveyed her. Then, I returned home," reads Guseyn's courtroom account.

Recordings from surveillance cameras on the premises captured Ayshan's fall from the building. Ayshan was still alive after the fall. She could see Guseyn approaching her and pleading for help. In a twisted turn of events, Guseyn, armed with scissors, cut the duct tape on Ayshan's hands and left her for dead.

Ayshan's mother's account provided harrowing details about their plight. Ayshan was pursuing her degree at Sumgait State University.

"One day, my daughter contacted me stating that she had eloped with her lover. But Ayshan assured us that she wouldn't start a family until she graduated, and beseeched us not to involve the police. Yet, we did. When Ayshan was discovered, she penned a statement claiming that she had departed voluntarily. Guseyn held my daughter captive in the house. He refused to let her attend university. We could not meet our daughter. Guseyn kept her locked inside the bathroom. I only communicated with Ayshan and witnessed her when he permitted it. I eagerly anticipated Ayshan to cry out for help anyway – 'Mom, save me' – but she communicated with us only under Guseyn's supervision," the mother narrated.

Guseyn's mother's testimony further unveiled more chilling aspects of the situation. Guseyn was addicted to drugs and struggled with mental health issues. He had been a patient at Republican Psychiatric Hospital No.1 for an extended period, and his psychiatric health deteriorated after his brother's demise. He even set fire to his brother's room. Guseyn's mother's testimony disclosed that they sought an unofficial abortion service for Ayshan during pregnancy, for a cost of approximately 70 dollars.
