Boil Water Advisory in Effect for Neukirch/Lausitz and Steinigtwolmsdorf
A boil water advisory is currently in place for residents of Neukirch/Lausitz and Steinigtwolmsdorf due to the detection of coliform bacteria in the drinking water. The advisory was issued by the Wasserverband Lausitz (WAL) on October 1, 2025, and remains in effect until further notice.
Vulnerable individuals, such as infants, young children, and those with compromised immune systems, are at higher risk from contaminated water. The WAL advises residents to boil their drinking water vigorously to eliminate any potential pathogens. This process involves bringing water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before allowing it to cool. For those with inquiries, the WAL can be reached at 03573 803500.
Until the boil water advisory is lifted, residents are urged to follow these safety measures to protect their health. The WAL will provide updates as the situation develops.
