Feds Crack Down on the Zabaykalsky Krai's Mineral Water Scandal

Listen up, folks! The lowdown on that ol' Zabaykalskaya Darasun bottled mineral water (y'know, the one from Zabaykalsky Krai) gets a whole lot juicier than you might think. Here's the tea:

As it turns out, LLAs "DARASUN" has been on a mission to clean up their act, tackling some not-so-minor quality issues. Seems like they've swapped out filters and metal impurity removal equipment after some lab tests exposed a hidden flaw - yep, you guessed it, arsenic content exceeding the standards.

Since this little bombshell landed on February 26, 2025, bottling was ceased sharpish, and all existing batches got checked out. Turns out some from February 17 weren't up to snuff, so they had to kiss goodbye to those.

With some fancy new filtration and purification upgrades, the team retested samples in the lab. Hurray! All now meets the standards, so bottling can recommence. Every single batch since then undergoes lab control, too, with accredited experts keeping a watchful eye.

As of today, bottles with bottling dates of May 5, 9, 10, and 11, 2025 are on sale, all good to drink without worry.

One more thing - using untreated mineral water from GUZ "Center for Medical Rehabilitation Darasun" for drinking is a no-no, as it still clocks in higher than approved arsenic content.

Now, about that Zabaykalsky resort - without a drop of Darasun to slake their thirst, it's left in a bit of a pickle. Keep your eyes peeled, though. We'll be sure to keep you in the know as the water saga unfolds!

In light of the Water Scandal, science and health-and-wellness have become top priorities for DARASUN, as they now focus on eliminating impurities and improving the quality of their bottled mineral water. Additionally, pertaining to the Zabaykalsky resort, the lack of drinkable water from their current source may influence the lifestyle and food-and-drink choices for visitors, creating new challenges for its management.
