Baden-Württemberg Ministers Visit Health + Life Science Alliance

Baden-Württemberg's Minister President, Winfried Kretschmann, and Minister of Science, Petra Olschowski, will visit the Innovationscampus Health + Life Science Alliance Heidelberg Mannheim on September 4, 2025. The visit, which underscores the strategic importance of the science location Heidelberg, will focus on an exchange with researchers and founders presenting their projects and startups.

The Health + Life Science Alliance Heidelberg Mannheim, initiated by seven leading research institutions, aims to develop the Rhine-Neckar region into an internationally visible biomedical-technological hub. The alliance, funded by the state, supports common high-tech platforms and joint research projects with industry.

On the visit day, the management team, including Prof. Dr. Michael Boutros, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wick, and Dr. Andrea Leibfried, will update the ministers on the alliance's current status, perspectives, and potential. Short presentations by Prof. Dr. Kerstin Goepfrich, Prof. Dr. Michael Platten, Prof. Dr. Sandy Engelhardt, and Prof. Dr. Dr. Felix Sahm will highlight cooperation, translation, and the transfer of research results into applications. A 'Gallery Walk' with live demonstrations will showcase innovations from research and the startup scene.

The visit of the Minister President and the Minister will also mark the official opening of the new seminar and co-working spaces of the Alliance. The event aims to inform about the alliance's activities and developments, particularly in the areas of cooperation, translation, and the transfer of research results into applications, further strengthening the region's position in the biomedical-technological field.
