Let's discuss the future of psychiatric specialist and day clinics that fall under the DRK Hospital Association South-West, across four locations in Rhineland-Palatinate - Worms, Bad Kreuznach, Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, and Daun. The Valera Group has stepped in to manage these facilities.
This takeover, which occurred at the start of June, ensures continuous patient care. No layoffs are on the horizon. Here's a snapshot of the number of employees impacted by the takeover: Worms (32), Bad Kreuznach (33), and Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler/Daun (121). You may recall SWR previously reporting on this matter.
The Valera Group, based in Bottrop, North Rhine-Westphalia, focuses on providing specialized healthcare services in fields such as psychiatry, neurology, and psychotherapy, and operates at 12 locations across Germany, employing approximately 700 individuals.
Apart from the facilities taken over by the Valera Group, the DRK Hospital Association's clinics are also experiencing an investor process. The Neuwied facility has already been transferred to the Marienhaus Group, and a municipal carrier is planned for the clinic in Alzey. Negotiations are ongoing for the remaining locations.
