Anticipated Mosaic of Cannabis Appraisal Results

In a series of statements, Federal Drug Commissioner Hendrik Streeck (CDU) has outlined his vision for a more efficient healthcare system and stricter regulations for medicinal cannabis.

Streeck, who aligns with Federal Health Minister Nina Warken (CDU) on the issue of medicinal cannabis, believes that the system should be streamlined to reduce the burden on the solidarity community. He expects a mixed picture in the evaluation of the cannabis partial legalization, with the outcome not providing a clear-cut conclusion.

One of the key areas Streeck is focusing on is the distinction between recreational and medicinally used cannabis. He has expressed concern about the current practice of prescribing medicinal cannabis via telemedicine and raised concerns about the risks associated with the distinction.

In an effort to ensure patient involvement and promote transparency, Streeck advocates for increasing media literacy and promoting critical thinking to reduce social media risks. He emphasizes the importance of self-determination over information intake and transparent communication about copayments.

Streeck also defends the idea of involving patients through co-payments in the healthcare system, stating that every doctor's visit costs money, as behind every medical service, there is a performer. However, he has not specified what stricter rules for medicinal cannabis might entail.

In addition, Streeck has called for a joint European solution for social media regulation, comparing the impact of social media to Paracelsus's saying 'the dose makes the poison.' He has also expressed concern about the risks children and young people face on digital platforms with addictive designs.

On the issue of medicinal cannabis, Streeck is against doctors who act as dealers for the substance. He wishes for a clear line between cannabis consumption and medicinal cannabis, but has not expressed any views on the evaluation of the cannabis partial legalization, stricter rules for medicinal cannabis, or the practice of prescribing medicinal cannabis via telemedicine in this paragraph.

According to Streeck, societal changes are usually reliably measurable only after five to ten years. As such, he urges patience and a focus on long-term solutions for the challenges facing the healthcare system and the digital world. He also calls for a joint European approach to addressing these issues, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and cooperation in a globalized world.
