Alzheimer's Awareness Week in the Rhine Area, specifically Neuss
The Alzheimer's Society Rhein-Kreiss Neuss is hosting an enlightening event on Dementia, featuring the screening of the thought-provoking film "Diagnosis Dementia - A Fear Without Ghosts" by Günter Roggenhofer.
The event will take place at the "Hitch" cinema on Oberstraße in Neuss on September 21st, starting at 4 pm.
"Diagnosis Dementia - A Fear Without Ghosts" is a moving documentary based on Günter Roggenhofer's personal experience of caring for his mother who had dementia for seven years. The film offers a poignant portrayal of the challenges and meaningful moments of life with the disease, aiming to help reduce people's fear of dementia.
The event will offer a variety of interactive activities for both young and old. Dance offers from TSV Meerbusch and Tanzhaus NRW will be available, as well as musical contributions and a performance by a clown. The "Rolling Forest School," specifically designed for work with dementia sufferers, will also be present.
Representatives from counseling centres, senior homes, care services, and church communities will be attending the event, providing valuable resources and support for those affected by dementia.
The finale of the event is a reading by author Lotti Beitz from her book "I Want a Pampelmus" on Friday, September 26th at 6 pm. Registration for the reading can be done by calling 02159/91 68 55.

Additionally, the "Lila Sofa" action week will take place at the city library in Meerbusch am Dr.-Franz-Schütz-Platz in Büderich from September 23rd to 26th, offering a range of interactive activities as part of this community event.
